Highline Public Schools serves around 18, 000 students grades K-12 in the communities of Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac and White Center in Washington State.
School meals are available to all enrolled Highline students at no cost this year! Even though meals are a no cost for everyone, some families will be asked to complete an income survey to access other discounts and benefits. Income data allows schools to maintain state funding.
Milk: Supply Chain Disruption Supply chain issues continue locally and nationwide, impacting supplies and specific menu items. Milk, in particular, is expected to be a challenge in the coming weeks. USDA regulations require that milk be offered as a component in school meals. Students are not required to take milk. Because this is a widespread issue, our options will be limited, but we are exploring alternatives. As always, a dedicated team is working tirelessly to ensure we are able to secure menu items that are kid friendly, but low in fat, and sodium, and salad bars that feature various options of fresh fruits and vegetables. Local foods are also used often and when in season. Highline Public Schools
